After more than one year testing everything, coding, designing and researching, I decided that it is time to go fully public. Clipcrawl is now oficially online and features even more than I expected it to feature one year ago.
I’ve been working hard to release the completely new version of clipcrawl this july. The first step was the implementation of the new design. It should look fairly the same on most browsers (okay, don’t count the IE 5.5 in, but I guess not many ppl. are using it anyway).

We had been experiencing some issues regarding server speed. So I talked to our Dreamhost support and got ClipCrawl moved to another server.
Seems like a whole different world for me. Speed is like 10x better than before. Hope you guys enjoy this too!

At least for Youtube and for Revver. All other sites are not implemented yet because they are lacking transparency in the way they store their thumbnails. They probably need to be gathered by every single video site’s API.

Another feature I wanted to implement is finally done!
Since the first version I’ve been looking to turn clipcrawl somehow more viral. Now our users are able to recommend specific movies to their friends.
In the future, we’re looking to get an inviter done which can work together with gmail, yahoo and msn contact lists.

It’s been pretty quiet around here in the last months… or lets say years. My 3 other friends who helped me developing the first version of ClipCrawl went on to another internet-related projects or just lost interest in it.

I guess we have just forgotten to post about it. We released our latest version last month and will be doing some bugfixes and improvements in the future.
